Part 4: Create Employee Growth's Goals & Milestones

The session aims to help you gain the best knowledge on using systematic and concrete goal-milestone setting, one of the key components of Talbit's Agile Development Sprint, with a view to supporting personal development.

Create S.M.A.R.T Goals

The S.M.A.R.T goal rule, one of the best and most used guides for creating relevant and well-working Goals. This rule, for sure, was not introduced in my outdated performance reviews.

Do not freak out if you cannot think of a Goal that fulfills all those requirements. You can start by selecting two or three requirements; for example, you can choose AT - Attainable and Timely - and also make sure the goal answers the question WHAT, then your goal is set to go.

Add Milestones to Goals

However, creating Goals with due dates is just not enough for us. It’s the old school way: “the one size fits all” that has been proven one too many times to fail. Therefore, we added Milestones to Goals.

Milestones are the steppingstones on your Growth Path. They answer the question HOW and will guide you to develop your skills, complete needed activities, and grow to help you reach your Goal, successfully. It can be as simple as follows:
